TULISAN 3 - PENJELASAN QUOTED SPEECH

{Direct speech} , menyatakan ulang secara persis apa yang telah dikatakan oleh orang lain.

Contoh    : - Jane said, “I’m so happy today”.

     -The president said, “I need a vacation”.

{Reported speech} , menyatakan secara tidak langsung melaporkan apa yang dikatakan orang lain.

Contoh   :  - Jane said she was so happy today.

                    - The president said he needed a vacation.

Reported speech menggunakan bentuk lampau dari direct speech.

Reported speech sering diberikan sebagai bagian dari klausa-that, khususnya dalam bahasa tertulis dan bahasa yang lebih formal.

Contoh   : - He said that he would arrive at 10.00.

         -He said he would arrive at 10.00.

Shinta : Yes , she don’t go to school but sick ( shinta said dina don’t go to school but sick )

Rosa    : Sick ? Since when he sick ? ( Rosa asked when dina sick )

Shinta : Yes , he was sick from last night ( Shinta said dina sick from last night )

Rosa    : What ill Dina ? ( Rosa asked what dina ill )

Shinta : He sick types ( Shinta said dina sick types )

Rosa    : How the state he now ? ( Rosa asked how dina now )

Shinta : Dina now has improved ( Shinta said dina now has improved )

Rosa    : So when Dina go to school ? ( Rosa asked when dina school )

Shinta : yes , he go to school tomorrow ( Shinta said dina go to school tomorrow)

Rosa    : Where dina now ? ( Rosa asked where dina now )

Shinta : in hospital (Shinta said dina now in hospital )

Rosa    : Ok Shinta , hopefully Dina rapidly improved ( Rosa asked hopefully dina rapidly improved)
